2013 Year in Review

Another year gone by, how does time continually go faster yet we haven’t developed time travel?

Let’s recap this year in travel though…
February 2013:

Business Class on Delta’s Atlanta to Manchester nonstop
Europe Express, Visit Britain & Delta asked me to join them for a travel industry trip to Manchester, U.K.
The highlights were flying business class (!!) & seeing the Lake District! Also, we had incredible food in the U.K. Those who complain aren’t looking hard enough!
You can read more about that here:

April 2013:
Our ‘babymoon’ to the Hard Rock Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. The highlight was spending uninterrupted time with my husband, Brett, before our first child was born. And for those who have asked, the VIP check-in/check-out is something I can provide for you as well…not waiting in line & a glass of champagne to start? Always a good idea!

May 2013:
We took a long weekend to the southern Outer Banks in North Carolina with our family. I initially was not overly excited about being on the Atlantic, I much prefer the blue of the Caribbean, but we had a blast! P.S. we rented a home, no review on hotel to share!

June 2013:
A week long trip to Orlando with my mentor & boss, Debbie, to attend our consortium, Vacation.com’s conference. I was asked to speak in regards to the many benefits of V.com’s marketing & booking tools and had a great time doing so! And for what it’s worth, we stayed at Walt Disney World Swan; it was old & outdated…I wouldn’t stay there again.

July 2013:
Another awesome opportunity to travel with Debbie (from here on out she’ll be referred to as Boss Lady as that is what I call her in real life). This time to The Westin Diplomat in Ft. Lauderdale to attend the inaugural Global Travel Marketplace a.k.a. GTM! We loved the Westin & it’s heavenly beds…especially since I was 26 weeks pregnant by then! I thought the Westin’s new RunWestin program offering clothes/shoes if you sign up beforehand along with group runs & pre-mapped runs is an excellent idea!

Our board room view!
And sadly enough that was all the traveling I could manage this year…but it was all worth it when our daughter, Caroline Jewel arrived Monday, October 28!

I am so looking forward to being back at my desk on January 6th although leaving that face behind will not be easy.
My new hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30AM to 5:00PM.
2014 travel plans include France in May so far…Paris & Provence with a 7 month old will surely provide some blogging content won’t it?
Hope you’ll follow along & let me know how I can help you with your vacation dreams!
