HEATHER CHRISTOPHER PARTICIPATES IN FUTURE LEADER IN TRAVEL RETREAT
TravelAge West hosts emerging travel industry leaders in inaugural Future Leaders in Travel Retreat
Gettysburg, PA – TravelAge West is proud to announce that professional travel advisor, Heather Christopher, was one of 41 travel advisors to attend The Future Leaders in Travel Retreat. The Retreat took place September 4-6, 2018 in Aspen, Colorado at Aspen Meadows Resort, home to The Aspen Institute. The event, powered by TravelAge West, is the only event in the industry dedicated to connecting the next generation of travel buyers and sellers in order to move the industry forward.
The advisors selected for the event are a part of the millennial generation, falling between the ages of 22 and 37. “In addition to the age requirements for the event, those selected have proven their professionalism, shown enthusiasm for impacting the future of travel, and are inspired to find new and better ways to sell travel,” said Jaqueline Hurst, Director, Trade Recruitment and Engagement, Travel Weekly Events. “To be selected for this event is quite an honor. The competition was tough, and a lot was required of these advisors to meet the event’s high standards.”
The event’s thorough application process included demonstrating their personal brand, sharing their thoughts on the current state of the industry, and providing professional references.
Over two days, travel advisors and suppliers connected through unique, collaborative content sessions; outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and yoga; and social events full of local flare. Education focused on professional development topics specific to future leaders, and provided insights on how this generation will influence the future of the travel industry.
“Throughout The Retreat travel advisors showed their industry knowledge, as well as their dedication to and enthusiasm for bringing the travel industry into the future. This group is actively applying themselves to be innovative in the way they bring the best products, services and experiences to their clients. And with that, they will no doubt exceed expectations,” said Ken Shapiro, Editor-in-Chief, TraveAge West.
